How to cope with stepkids that lie and steal my stuff. And the teenager always calling me names?
I have two children ages 5 and 3, and have two stepkids 10 & 16. I have a wonderful husband, I am a stay-at-home mom. I'm always a chore list, and give rewards for ongoing tasks. The problem is that the two stepkids always steal things from me and the little children, and of course they Denine. My husband is now standing his kids, and punish them. They do not like this, they also call me names all the time. My husband told me that my children do not do that, but when I say that the items are in the room or when he asks the girls, they are subject. But I am the wrong person. I'm sick of this! What should we do? We begin counseling but did not help!
Sounds like your husband tries to take control by disciplining children. Remember, they are children, you're adults, do not sink to their level, with the insults. Remind your husband that children need to respect you and your property. And remember, you both are on the same team. Being a stay-at-home mom is tough job with great responsibility, perhaps it would be useful you take time for yourself, no return of the situation and get a new perspective. Give time to board, be patient.
